The state’s largest painting company says it’s going into full gear after a surge in demand led to a spike in the number of painting orders.
The painting company, Chalk Paint, said it’s currently hiring for its Paint Center in Chapel Hill.
The Chapel Hill-based company said it has been receiving more than 3,000 new paint orders for its painting center in the past two weeks, including nearly 5,000 painting orders for the past four weeks.
The company said the demand has not yet been matched by the supply.
The paint company has been hiring from as far away as Florida, New Jersey and California for its paint center.
In January, Chash said it hired more than 1,000 workers in Chapel, and has hired more in the Chapel area since then.
Chalk painted 1,300 homes in the month of February alone, with 1,200 of those homes being purchased by residents, the company said in a statement.
The Chapel-based paint company said its Chapel-area paint center will be operational by the end of March, and that it will continue to grow as it works to increase the supply of paint to the North Carolina market.
